About the colour...
The bright red of Poppy was inspired by Ophelia’s flower garland in the painting produced by controversial Pre-Raphaelite painter, Sir John Everett Millais. The Pre-Raphaelite movement explored the luminosity of pure colour that could be found in Quattrocento art and developed techniques to produce clear, jewel like, colours.
